Several laws took effect yesterday. One phases out the personal property tax on businesses which Governor Snyder says will make Michigan businesses more competitive.
Another prohibits insurers from using someone's credit information to deny or cancel their personal insurance policy.
Kelsey's law makes it illegal for new drivers to use cell phones while behind the wheel, and a cyber school law will begin to lift the cap on how many on-line charter schools are allowed in the state.
