Attorney General Bill Schuette Tries to Get Lawsuit Dismissed
A coaltion of unions along with some state legislators and the American Civil Liberties Union have brought a lawsuit against the Right-To-Work act that was passed late last year. They say the bill was passed in violation of the Open Meetings Act since the capitol was shut down during the process.
Attorney General BIll Schuette is trying to get that lawsuit dismissed by an Ingham County judge, he believes that the Open Meetings Act was not violated because the capitol closing down was to maintain the safety of those inside.
Ingham County Judge William Collette will hear Schuette's arguments during an April 3rd hearing.
