A Detroit man is being charged in connection with stealing his father's body from a casket at a cemetery.
Police say the body of 93-year-old Clarence Bright was stolen and then later put in a freezer in the 48-year-old son's basement. Officers say he was planning to resurrect him through prayer.
They found the son's truck with the casket inside at a gas station.
"He deserves closure, I mean it's bizarre. I dunno words to say. We're trying to assist the family, and do the best that we can," said Leon Jones of Swanson Funeral Home.
The son, who hasn't been identified, was taken into custody, along with another man. We'll know their names once they've been arraigned.
