The state is trying to get ahead of a dangerous new class of drugs that have arrived in Michigan: phenethylamine.
They're hallucinogenic drugs, and when taking them, people can't feel pain. That's especially dangerous because people are hurting themselves and don't realize it.
There have been 19 cases in Michigan and five deaths nationwide.
The State Board of Pharmacy is working to make the drugs illegal by classifying them as controlled substances.
