Toy House and Baby Too in Jackson gave away $200 worth of toys to every school district in Jackson County. The Toy House donated the 20 boxes filled with toys on Saturday, as part of its third annual "Neighborhood Toy Store Day."

Toy House is one of four stores across the country chosen to donate the nearly $5,000 worth of toys, in conjunction with TD monthly Magazine and toy manufacturers across the country.

Phil Wrzesinski owns Toy House and Baby Too. He says he hopes to show schools that toys can be a great part of curriculum.

"There are a lot of lessons in all types of toys," said Wrzesinski. "Cooperation, communication, problem-solving, negotiation - all skills kids need later in life and they get many of those skills from the types of toys they play with."

Wrzesinski's grandparents founded the store in 1949, and it's grown to be the largest, independent, family-owned toy store in the country. Toy House focuses on selling unique, high-quality toys you can't find anywhere else.
