First Case of West Nile in Clinton County
FOX 47 News
Clinton County is reporting its first case of West Nile Virus.
This raises the total of cases in mid-Michigan to seven; there are two in Ingham County, and one in both Eaton and Clinton counties.
Statewide 144 people have become ill from the virus; six have died.
However, the rate of people becoming infected has slowed.
The Michigan Department of Community Health says this may because people are taking more precautions, such as using insect repellent, or it could be that the cooler weather is making the mosquitoes less active.
