100+ Marijuana Plants Confiscated
LANSING - Over 100 marijuana plants with the potential to generate over $300,000 worth of marijuana was uncovered at a home on Lansing's east side Thursday night. After a lengthy investigation, Tri-County Narcotics officers raided the home where the plants, as well as processed marijuana, grow lights and other growing equipment were confiscated. The officers also went to a second location, a business, where there was evidence of a similar sophisticated pot growing operation.
The narcotics squad identified a 39-year-old man as a suspect, but he was released pending further investigation. They say charges will depend on the prosecutor's review.
First District Drug Task Force commander, MSP Detective First Lt. Tim Gill said, "This was a large, ongoing marijuana grow operation. It appears that this suspect has been growing marijuana for some period of time. We are continuing our investigation to insure we have a complete picture of his activities."
