Both Cars In Crash Driven by Impaired Drivers, Says Deputies
SUMMIT TWP. JACKSON CO. - Authorities in Jackson County say both drivers in an accident Thursday were impaired either by drugs or alcohol.
Just before 4 o'clock in the afternoon Thursday deputies responded to a crash on Park Road in Summit Township near Duguid Road.
A car driven by a 37-year-old woman crossed the center line and struck a car driven by a 65 year old man. Both drivers were taken to Allegiance Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In a press release sent to us, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office says that deputies suspect the man was driving under the influence of alcohol, while the woman was impaired by drugs. Blood samples were taken from both drivers and charges will be sought against both for driving while impaired.
