Man Faces Unlawful Imprisonment Charge
FOX 47 News
A Lansing man is in jail, accused of keeping his ex-girlfriend in his home against her will.
Police say the couple had lived in a home on the 1700 block of Illinois together, until they recently broke up.
The victim tells police that on April 5, the man invited her back to pick up some of her belongings, and then refused to let her leave.
She tells police he assaulted her, and used some sort of weapon to keep her imprisoned. Police are not saying what weapon that was.
The suspect left his home Sunday afternoon, and the woman escaped and called police.
He was spotted in a vehicle on the 1200 block of South Cedar last night, and was captured after a short foot chase.
He was taken into custody and should be arraigned later today.
