Michigan State came into this past weekend on a mission - still hurting from last Sunday's home loss against Ohio State, the Spartans were looking to get their championship back.
This time, it couldn't be split three ways.
And after impressive two-digit wins over Iowa and Wisconsin, Michigan State had the scenario they hoped for: a rematch against the Buckeyes, for all the Big Ten marbles.
In a Big Ten Tournament championship game for the ages, Michigan State fought to win it 68-64. They did it with a career-high 21 points for senior Brandon Wood. Despite the fact that senior captain Draymond Green struggled offensively, his three-point bucket with a minute thirty to extend the lead to five points was the dagger.
It was a trio of wins that ultimately sealed the deal for the Spartans, who were named the #1 seed in the West division just minutes after their win.
