FOX 47 News
LANSING - Traffic is moving again along Martin Luther King Jr Blvd near Filley Street on the north side of Lansing. Train cars that derailed there Thursday afternoon were removed late Thursday night, and the road re-opened in the early morning hours.
The derailment happened shorty after 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Three empty grain cars went off the track, with one tipping over onto its side. Initial estimates warned drivers that the road would be closed for 24-hours, but crews were able to clear the tracks much sooner.
There's no word yet on what caused the derailment. The accident continues to be investigated.
