Red Haven Farm to Table Hosts First Wine Dinner

Red Haven Farm to Table in Okemos has been delighting diners with its innovative local foods since opening its doors in Fall 2012. Every couple of months the restaurant has hosted special dinners inspired by particular ingredients (mangalitsa pig, duck) or local spots like Blue Nectar Tequila and Dark Horse Brewing Company. 

On April 2nd, Rec Haven held a five course dinner with wine pairings from Schug Winery in Sonoma. Click through the gallery to see photos from the meal. 

  • 1st Course: Sashimi. Fluke, grapefruit, fennel, radish, pea

  • 2nd Course: Mousse. Chicken, duck, goose, fiddleheads, seeds

  • 3rd Course: Cheese. Evergreen creamery April Showers, pinot, cherry, mushroom, chocolate

  • 4th Course: Sear. Beef tenderloin, potato, truffle, demi, rosemary

  • 5th Course: Tart. Poached pear, pastry cream, almond, vanilla, riesling
