UPDATE: Person Arrested in Pine Street Homicide Case

Lansing Police detectives have arrested a 21-year-old male from Lansing in connection with the homicide of Anthony Kye. The suspect is being held at the Lansing Police Detention Unit pending a review of possible charges that could be filed by the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office on Friday.

Lansing Police have confirmed that persons of interest in a homicide investigation were detained after a traffic stop Thursday afternoon. 35-year-old Anthony Karlton Kye was shot and killed in Lansing early Wednesday in the 600 block of Pine Street near Saginaw Street.

Police stopped a black Dodge Charger on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. near Dorchester Circle shortly after 1 o'clock. At that time the individuals were detained.

 


 

Police have identified the man shot and killed in Lansing early Wednesday as 35-year-old Anthony Karlton Kye.

He was shot just after midnight in the 600 block of Pine Street near Saginaw Street.

Police have yet to arrest a suspect. They're asking anyone who may know something or who might have been in the area to call the department's investigation unit at 517-483-6842.

The Downtown Neighborhood Association will be discussing the deadly shooting at its monthly meeting Thursday night at the downtown library. They hope to have someone from the police department there to update them on the investigation. Anyone is welcome to attend.


A 35-year-old man is dead and police are searching for the person who shot and killed him. Lansing police say Anthony Kye was shot to death.

It happened just after midnight Wednesday on the 600-block of Pine Street.
