More Details: Lansing Man Arraigned for Holding Woman, Child Hostage

The man who broke into a Lansing home and held a mother and her child hostage was in court Tuesday.

Lewis West Jr. was arraigned on several charges, including home invasion, assault by strangulation, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Police say West barricaded himself inside a home in the 1100 block of Comfort Street for nearly four hours Monday.

A 17-year-old was able to escape and call police. The woman held hostage was treated for minor injuries, while the child was unharmed.
