Plans Unveiled for New Patriarche Park Structure

The playground at Patriarche Park will be demolshed, and larger.

Plans were unveiled Sunday for the new structure, which will be a mix of plastic and steel. The massive play structure is being rebuilt after trace amounts of arsenic were found in the wood.

Planners hope it will be just as popular as the existing one.

"You can hardly come here on nice day and not see kids crawling all over the Patriarche Park playground, and that's what we hope to have again with the new structure, and hopefully more," said Nathan Triplett, Rotary Club President.

This is a $570,000 project that is being headed by East Lansing's Rotary Club.
